After recognizing an increase in traffic on Denton Road — a primary urban route running through the city — the City of Dothan selected CDG to provide engineering services to widen the highway and replace a bridge on the road to accommodate the growing demand. Using a combination of funds from the Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program, the $3.05 million project included expanding more than a mile of the road from a two-lane to a five-lane highway and constructing an 80-foot bridge replacement. A multi-phase traffic control plan allowed for traffic to continue flowing during construction until the project was completed.
