As the City of Hartselle continues to grow, system upgrades were critical to support the area’s growth and ensure reliability within its water system. Hartselle Utilities partnered with CDG to construct a new booster pumping station to provide the water necessary to support the city’s northeast side, aiding Hartselle High School, residences, commercial businesses, and industries. Previously, only two small water mains provided water to this area. These lines were susceptible to breaks which, at times, resulted in the need to close the High School until fire protection was restored. The new high-level water boosting pumping station alleviates these problems and provides a pumping capacity of 3 million gallons per day, impacting 15,000 residents and supporting additional growth near I-65.
