Oak Mountain State Park Improvements

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) was experiencing an increased demand for sites and other amenities at Oak Mountain State Park. ADCNR partnered with CDG to assist in identifying and designing these improvements to elevate their visitors’ experience with the popular facility in Pelham, Alabama. The identified enhancements to the facility and campground layout seek to create a top-quality experience for all visitors. Part of the effort included upgrading the existing campgrounds to the National Park Service and Alabama State Park standards while implementing low-impact development strategies to minimize disturbance. As part of the engagement, CDG provided services beyond planning, including land surveying, geotechnical services, project design, and construction administration. The construction phase for this project is anticipated to begin June 2023.
